[Tracking Every Minute]-Day 4 – Routine Continues
On Day 4 of my #trackeveryminute challenge I continued the routine I established in the last few days. This update is similar to Day 2 and Day 3.

6:00 – 6:30 I got a little bit of reading in.
6:30 – 8:30 got the kids up and out to school.
At 8:30 I started the workday with a communication block.
At 9:00 I started my first and biggest time block of the day. This is the third in a row that I got this block in. Looking back at my notes, I was pretty frustrated at the end of this one. I have a consistent bug that makes keeping track of the dates in the application confusing.
There is no better medicine for that type of frustration then a nice long walk with the dogs. I wish I could tell you that I solved all my problems during that walk. I didn’t. The bug continues to haunt me.
I got another 2 hour block of work in after lunch. Then, before shutting down for the day I put in another communication block.
3:00 to 7:00 I spent at my daughters middle school soccer game. This includes round trip to the school.
Dinner once I got back home and then I was able to get back to the computer again for another hour before wrapping up the day.
Nothing too exciting, but the routine continues, which I am very happy about.
Main Takeaways
- Kids events take up a lot of time. Between traveling to and from and the actual event itself, it easily took 4 hours. That alone is a quarter of my time awake in the day. There is nowhere I would rather be. I am blessed to have the flexibility to be there. But I have to acknowledge it is a huge chunk of my time.
- Logging back in to work in the evening might not be the best practice. However, on days like today where I am at my kids events during the day, I feel better when I am able to put more time in. I didn’t notice any issues with sleep, but it is worth keeping track of.
