[Tracking Every Minute]-Day 15 – Another Storm

This post is the fifteenth in the #trackingeveryminute challenge. You can follow along here.

After hosting 10 11 year-olds for a sleepover, we went out with friends. At my age, this means one thing. Exhaustion. We are always making tradeoffs in life. If I wanted to have an easy day today, I would have stayed in last night and gone to sleep early.

Instead, I went out to dinner with friends and had a few drinks. I will pay the price for this decision all day. It is a trade I make happily, but that does not mean I will not struggle today. I am going to struggle.

8:00 – 9:00. Got home late, woke up late. Not feeling great and behind schedule to get my son to his basketball game.

9:00 – 10:30. Drove to sons basketball game.

10:30 – 11:30. First game of the day down.

11:30 – 2:00. Son wanted to hang with friends, wife and I chose to go to a small greek restaurant near the court. It is our wedding anniversary, so it was nice to hang out, even if it was in a random greek restaurant.

2:00 – 3:00. Second basketball game of the day.

3:00 – 4:00. Sons basketball buddies wanted a post game meal. It’s kind of the whole point of these organized sports clubs. How could we miss out.

4:00 – 5:00. Drive back home.

5:00 – 7:00. Once back home had to get the kids ready for dinner and school the next day. Like I said it’s our anniversary, so we are going out to dinner.

7:00 – 10:00. Dinner at a fancy restaurant for our wedding anniversary.

Main Takeaways

  • Tradeoff and choices. We make them all the time. Sometimes we are aware of them, other times not so much. I was tired all day today, because of a choice I made last night. It was worth it.
