[Tracking Every Minute]-Day 10 – Tuesday Two
Today is the second Tuesday in the tracking every minute challenge. You can read about the first Tuesday, which was day 3.
Yesterday, was the second Monday in the challenge. My big takeaway was the importance of shifting from weekend mode into work mode.
Today, I think I benefited from that shift into work mode.

6:00 – 6:30. After not getting this half our to myself for the past few days, I was finally able to get myself out of bed early enough to get this time in. No surprise, I enjoyed it.
6:30 – 8:30. As I’ve written about before. When I wake up at 6:00, I have a half hour for myself to do a bit of reading. Once 6:30 rolls around it’s time to wake up the kids and get them going to school. I still make breakfast for two of them. Once that is done I walk the dogs. I’ll come back up to the apartment and help get everyone out of the door. Wife and I will split up and we take turns with the different drop offs.
8:30 – 9:30. I gave up my office suite at the beginning of the month. I’ve been experimenting with the best use of my time in the gap between dropping my kids off and gym time. I’ll typically do Barry’s bootcamp, which is scheduled, so I am waiting for a class to start. I learned over this past weekend (Day 7 & 8) to have my laptop on me at all times. I took advantage here and worked from the coffee shop.
9:30 – 11:00. Hit the gym then head home and shower, etc.
11:00 – 1:00. This is my main deep work block for the day.
1:00 – 2:00. I knew I was meeting with someone at 1:30, so I prepped and had a longer than usual communication block.
2:00 – 5:00. Daughter had a soccer game on the other side of town. This was a huge time commitment, ended up eating around 4 hours of the day.
5:00 – 6:00. Thankfully going against traffic, but still took an hour to get back home.
6:00 – 7:00. Wife took the soccer car pool, so I cooked dinner.
7:00 – 9:00. Wife got home with other kids and we had dinner together and hung out until lights out.
Main Takeaways
- I was right about a good Monday setting up the rest of the week. Felt good about the amount of work I was able to do today.
- Going to kids events takes up a lot of time. Today I attended my daughters soccer game, which was a 4 hour commitment in the middle of the day. Again, I consider myself truly blessed to be able to attend, but it is a lot of time. This is a non-negotiable item for me.
