[Tracking Every Minute]-Day 23 – Kind of a Weekday

This post is the twenty third post in the #trackingeveryminute challenge. You can follow along here.

Kids are home from school. There are no more sporting activities. The holidays are in full swing. But today is Monday, what am I supposed to do?

I’ve planned for limited work during this holiday season. I said limited, not none. During this challenge I’ve learned that Mondays are very important for me. Shifting from an off day to an on day, heavily influences the rest of my week.

But it’s Christmas Eve tomorrow, so I am looking at any work I get done today as a bonus.

7:30 – 8:30. Waking up later than usual, but with no school there is no rush to get kids up and out. Taking advantage to start the day with some coffee and a book.

8:30 – 11:00. Jump right into a deep work block here.

11:00 – 12:00. Weather is still under 75, dogs are coming on a walk.

12:00 – 1:00. Lunch time.

1:00 – 3:00. Second deep work block of the day.

3:00 – 5:00. Hit the park with the kids.

5:00 – 7:30. Hanging out at home.

7:30 – 9:00. Dinner at home.

9:00 – 11:00. Family movie night.

What is a Christmas Movie?

Is Die Hard a Christmas movie? My vote is yes, the rest of my family says no. Even though my kids have never seen it.

Are the Harry Potter films Christmas movies? Again, my vote is yes, the rest of my family says no.

We’re home for the holidays so we are spending evenings playing card games, hanging out and watching movies.

Most of the options are obvious Christmas movies. Red One is a new action Christmas thriller released this year. Spirited is a Christmas comedy from last year. Kids are getting older so the Christmas movies we went to in the past are no longer an option.

Here is my issue. If Die Hard and Harry Potter are not Christmas movies, why is Home Alone a Christmas movie?

Just because. That’s what I am told in my house.

Main Takeaways

  • Holidays are on, but we did not leave town. Just because you are home, doesn’t mean you should work a normal schedule.
  • Christmas movie categorization lacks common sense.
