Happy Quitters Day! 🎉
By the second Friday of the New Year 📅, most people have given up on their New Year's resolutions.
Challenge starts in:
How is your resolution going?
If you're anything like the rest of us, you've already failed.
I am no different. I got to the end of 2024 and I was not where I wanted to be. I was reviewing my year at the end of November and I could not figure out what went wrong.
I am a hard worker. I'd go so far as to say that I enjoy working.
But I wasn't getting the results.
I was reminded of a quote from Shane Parrish of Farnam Street.
Ouch. That hurts. I looked at my calendar, and surprise, surprise, I couldn't find any events on my schedule to work on my priorities.
I couldn't lie to myself any longer. So I set out to understand how I was spending my time. I tracked every minute of my day for 31 days. Every day, every hour, every minute, including the weekends.
There was no where to hide. The data spoke for itself.
I learned so much from tracking every minute of the month, like how to actually get stuff done, that I knew I had to keep doing it. I also knew that I had to share what I learned with others.
So I created the Quitter's Day Challenge.
For the next 4 weeks / 28 days, we are going to work together to get a better understanding of how you are spending your time.
Challenge starts in:
🚫 No new tools, no new apps, no new software.
Learn what you need
Get access to all the training materials and start learning right away
Track your time
Put your learning into practice with hands-on exercises
Plan your time
Take action and implement what you've learned
Get support
Get support and guidance from the community
Repeat
Then do it again, week after week
We do not need new tools!
The only tool we need is a calendar.
We all have the same 24 hours in a day. Once we understand how we are spending our time, we can make better decisions on how we use it.
What is the first step we should take when starting a new diet?
Stop eating. Wrong! The first step is to track what you are eating.
Diet follows a simple formula, calories in vs calories out.
Time is no different. Time spent actually working towards your goal, is the only way to make progress towards your goal.
Similar to dieting, we often have no idea how we are spending our time.
